The golf blog has been going under some changes. Thought it would be a good idea to explain my ideas and answer some of the questions that have been asked more than once. Here goes.
Why have you turned this into a Members Only blog?
I really wanted a way to provide more detailed content to those interested. The more detailed the information the more time it takes. I figured that a small fee would help contribute to the cost. But …
There are still over 250 free blog posts. These golf instruction lessons cover a wide variety of topics on golf improvement and learning. The best way to find them is to use the search or category function on the right. So if you don’t want to pay you can still access some really good lessons for free.
What’s the main benefit of getting a membership?
You get more instruction on WHAT to do. There’s more videos that help the learning process. You also get better access to me. While I will always do my best to answer ALL emails, I will now prioritise those who are members of The Golf Tribe.
My golf swing needs improving – can you help?
I have been getting this one quite a bit. I’m now working on putting my golf swing improvement system into writing. This is something that I’ve always wanted to do – learning to improve your golf swing naturally is by far the best way to see major improvement. This info will be part of the Golf Tribe and will contain information including;
- How to practice correctly
- How to make swing changes
- The things you actually need to do in your swing – I will remove all of the fluff
- A roadmap and guide – more detailed instruction on planning and integrating swing changes
- Making all changes a part of your natural game
- Taking swing changes to the golf course
Are you now saying that Automatic Golf is not important?
Not at all. You should always automate your golf game. This is the most important skill for playing your best golf.
How often will new content be added?
I am trying to add one ripper lesson per week. There will always be free blog posts – these may be less frequent, but I will still be doing them. Ripper blogs are those with extra content and deeper explanations.
Cameron, can I help in any way?
Yes. If you join the Golf Tribe that would be great. The more members the better the content.
If you have joined then I ask you to participate by leaving comments and asking questions. The Golf Tribe works best when there is banter back and forwards. Often I have found that this communication provides some of the best instruction.
Is there anything new I can look forward to?
I am starting a golf swing review service. If you are part of The Golf Tribe you can send me a video of your golf swing – I’m particularly interested in seeing you perform on the golf course. I will then review your action in great detail. I’m hoping to include this review for all to see – but if you’re not comfortable then it will be for your eyes only.
For those interested please contact me.
If you’re not a member then there will be a small fee.
More details to come.
Is your swing trainer worth it?
The Beta Golf Swing Trainer is a beauty. And I’m not just saying that
It really helps you learn a better swing without bogging you down with too much technical golf instruction. It took me years to come up with the right formula, but it is now spot on.
If you want something that forces you to learn a better swing and more importantly teaches you a correct impact position, then the swing trainer is what you need.
How do I contact you?
The best way is to use the contact form on this website. If you’re a Tribe member make sure you tell me.
Why do you have two golf websites?
Good question. Betagolf.com is generally the starting point – it hosts all of the free golf instruction videos and the introduction to automatic golf. While this blog is for those ready to step it up and take their learning further.
You can contact me via any website.
Do you give private golf lessons
Yes. But these are done in a way that I know works – and they will be different from anything that you’ve experienced in the past. Basically I do lessons my way – I don’t prescribe to traditional methods. These private golf lessons are reserved for those serious about learning about automatic golf. I have put together a page explaining all the details here.
Can I play golf with you?
I have been getting this asked more and more. I am not against the idea but I do have serious limits on my time. Also, a social round of golf is not a golf lesson. If you’re looking for a lesson that is conducted on the golf course see above. Contact me to discuss what you have in mind.
What about holding a golf seminar?
This is something I’m toying with. I have looked into having a one-day seminar in Melbourne and Brisbane. Let me know if you’re keen or if you can help with organisation.

I hope people start contributing to this forum because if we want it to continue we’ve got to support it. Personally I think its a privilege to be part of it. I’ve seen, heard and read most of it over 30 years of golf and this is something very special. Support it. Buy a swing trainer. I did and can highly recommend it. It improves your swing without you even having to think!
On a personal note I re-committed to Cameron’s process last weekend after realizing that I was starting to drift away from it in certain aspects. The results were immediate and very pleasing. And its not just the physical improvement I noticed. There was also a strong feeling of calm and control. Its a bit hard to describe but its very real. In fact this time I went one step further with the process and committed to something that Cameron alludes to – but doesn’t insist on – and that is NOT LOOKING UP AT THE TARGET AT ALL AFTER YOU’RE OVER THE BALL — just going ahead and hitting it. Sounds spooky and feels spooky at first but wow, what a feeling. Strangely liberating. Highly recommend it.
Fred Shoemaker says that ultimately every golfer wants 3 things: a feeling of freedom, a sense of peace and the ability to teach themselves as they go along. All three of these escaped me for the last 30 years but I definitely experience all three when I play the Cameron way.
@Grayden
great summary. I liked the last 3 things shoemaker points out….”a feeling of freedom, a sense of peace and the ability to teach themselves as they go along.” That’s reason why I play. Enjoyment.
Personally Ive gone away from chasing a low handicap. That’s ego. I now play for pleasure. Sure I still play to my best when playing in a comp don’t get em wrong I still want to the best I can , however bringing my handicap down isn’t a priority. Making sure I automate my game is . Why because that is the key to playing outstanding golf. And No I want pull the handbrake on the 17th or 18th.
Great post.
Cheers Steady
Hello Tribers,
I had a great opportunity a couple of weeks ago to spend some time on the golf course with Cameron to further learn first hand implementing auto golf into my game. What I walked away with I haven’t been able to learn in the 30 years I’ve been playing the game of golf!!!. The one thing that stands out is he doesn’t try to recreate the wheel. Just work with what you have and try and bring out your natural swing.
My game currently is at its absolute worst but with the time I spent with Cameron I have a realistic road map to over time improve my game and get to where I want to be!!
I have to keep reminding myself that I’ve been swinging the club this way for 30 years so to implement change won’t happen overnight. But slowly but surely I know with auto golf I can eventually get there!
The one major problem I have with my game is a vicious pull hook which is quite game destroying.
Had a game on Sunday and it was a real battle to keep the ball on the fairway.
But the journey is long and I’m committed to see it out and I can see from the other tribers that the results will eventually come ! You only get back what you put in!!!
Maybe the Swing Trainer may help me improve my swing and eliminate that hook?
Regards,
Ray C
In response to Ray C. Stick with it. You will have some scars but i’ts worth it. You’ll eventually find your game. Not mine, not Camerons but your game with your swing. That’s what is so exciting about automatic golf. You give yourself the best chance to play at your optimum all the time. You don’t suddenly wake up and wonder “Were did my swing go?”
I hope this helps, the reason being is I become despondent, unhappy and was really hating the game of golf. The reasons being was that I was trying too hard, thinking that I had to post good scores to prove that autogolf works. What I found is my true enjoyment of the game lies in not shooting low numbers but having fun while playing. This means not being distracted by my score swing or slice/hook. I have become aware what it takes to play auto golf. When you get to that point your enjoyment of the game sky rockets. In many ways it is what most golfers are realy seraching for. Not building a great swing cause if that’s the case ask Jim Furyk. He’ll say his swing has won him millions of dollars. Go figure.
Cheers Steady
Thanks Steady,
Your spot on !! That’s what I was so disappointed with from Sunday’s game, I lost the plot because of the way I was playing and my whole auto routine went out the window.I’m better than that and irrespective of how I’m hitting them I need to stick with my routine-just committing to a shot , count and hit the bloody ball!!! Don’t worry about the result!
Steady, I like the way you think. Good stuff.
Hi guys,
Thanks for posting.
The easy part is reading this forum and thinking about what it is you want to do. The hard part is actually letting go and “playing” golf when you get to the golf course.
The harder part is letting go, trying less and trusting your automatic game after a few bad shots. Poor golf is a sign to STOP! Relax, and stop trying so bloody hard. This takes commitment and “courage under fie’.
I’ll talk to you soon,
Cameron
