@Lukey: Playing your best golf is a constant battle. There is absolutely no magic pill. All you can keep doing is to keep going and try not to get in your own way.

Welcome back Lukey. It has been a bit quiet around here without you!

Good golfing,

Cameron

Cam
Been quiet lately due to loosing internet but am back up and running now and Steady kept me up to date.I find it refreshing that the guru of auto golf can sometimes loose his way and lends hope to us mere mortals that by sticking with the process (even when playing bad)eventually things will turn round.
Cheers Lukey

@Steady: Good work mate! Yes yes yes. You have made a breakthrough. Automatic is not a magic trick. Discipline is the first step. Your experience was the difference between winning and losing. It can be a fine line as you can appreciate.

@Gregor: Sometimes the hardest thing is to let go. It can feel uncomfortable and scary. But well done - you're taking small steps in the right direction.

When you realise you don't have to play any differently, no matter what the situation, you'll improve further.

Good golf requires you play your way time after time. Easy to do but also easy not to do.

Good golfing,

Cameron

Cameron,
I have had some rounds recently where things have suddenly taken a turn for the worse and it does make you wonder where things are going wrong. In my case I stop speaking to my playing partners and feel a bit miserable.
In the last two rounds it took me until the 9th and then 6th holes of my rounds before realising that I was being distracted in my backswing. I had again stopped counting all the way through to the finish - a recurring problem. In both rounds my play immediatley improved after remembering how to play automatically.
On Saturday I was 2 down after 9 holes against a 4 handicapper and went on to play the back 9 in 3 over to win the game. Afterwards he said that compared to the front 9 it looked like effortless golf. For 6 holes I wondered where my swing had gone and then I remembered to let go.
As Steady says I need to have this as part of a consistent routine for all 18 holes every time I play. Still working on it !!

Hi Cam,
I played a guy yesterday in Handicap Pennant. He was talking about how inconsistent he was. I told him that you are consistent in something no matter what when you play. We all have habits, some good some bad.
The entire essence of auto golf is to have a consistent, routine which gives you the best chance to play to your potential by distracting the conscious mind.
Yesterday I stepped away from 5 shots due to fly's and other distractions. On all five shots I got the ball close to the whole. My point being is that you have to be disciplined, as your walk to the ball , getting set and pulling the trigger is vital to playing good golf. If for any reason you arn't comfortable step away. This shows discipline and mental toughness.
I won 1 up after having to give this guy 3 shots.
Cheers Steady
